Norm is resting comfortably at home. He saw a gastro specialist yesterday to be told that he does indeed have a case of Pancreatitis. The doctor thought it was probably caused from the excessive drinking on the cruise. However, my mom and I have our own theories. My dad has binged on alcohol before (NO!) and we think that Prednisone, his medication he takes for his lung disease is the culprit. Prednisone suppresses the immune system and decreases inflammation. And when you Google pancreatitis and prednisone, there are a huge number of hits concerning the correlation between the two with dogs. Hmmm..... dogs and people aren't that different. Besides, I think all drugs have such an effect on the whole body.
